Newly released handbook a guide to the Willem Holleeder-case

AMSTERDAM – The Willem Holleeder-case now is being billed as the court case of the century. A complicated case which turns around blackmail perpetrated against a number of real estate tycoons by the top criminal, has been simplified by a newly released handbook which supposedly walks the uninitiated through all the intricacies of the case. In addition to Holleeder and a girlfriend, a second woman has been charged with blackmail. Holleeder was forced to hire another lawyer when his longtime defender quit after losing a court injunction against a journalist who had libeled him as a friend of the mafia. The fact that a number of the real estate tycoons were killed in public in recent years has generated additional attention for the court case. Previously, Holleeder served jail time for kidnapping brewer Heineken and his chauffeur.
