KEENT – The most important remainders of a British Spitfire were unearthed recently in this community near the Brabant town of Oss, nearly 65 years after it crashed on the return flight to its English home base. Excavators dug to a depth of 5,5 meters to reach an engine of the plane. The pilot of the Spitfire was killed in the October 2, 1944 crash and was given a final resting place at the Groesbeek war cemetery.
